First contact..

April 30, 2014 by fred Leave a Comment

At last….a badger. I think that I have found a badger set with cubs. The days have got to get a bit longer and I think that It is going to be possible to take pictures of that badger family during day time.

Still nothing at my other set. Patience, patience….

Lapwing chick

April 29, 2014 by fred Leave a Comment

Two days ago while I was photographing hare I came across a lapwing. It was in the middle of a field. I did find that bizarre. I stop and started to scan with my binocular, when suddenly I came across a chick. I was quite surprise to see a lapwing chick there as buzzard are breeding there and Two pair of carrion crow are also there. I took a few pictures and left the birds in peace.

I don`t remember how many time I have dipped with badgers. I have spend many hours without seeing any of them. I want to photograph them in daylight. It is not easy. The only thing I seem to have are Rabbits . I am always amazed to see so many rabbits coming out of badger`s set.

But Last evening, I came across something….

Hare paradise

April 28, 2014 by fred Leave a Comment

I am taking picture of brown hare almost every day. They are a cracking subject. I have to be quick as in two week time the grass will be too long and it will be very difficult to see them.

This is it. For the fourth consecutive years “Roger” the cuckoo came back in my garden. This is the first pictures of Roger that I have taken this year. What an incredible bird.

Dandelion

April 25, 2014 by fred 2 Comments

Yesterday, I made a quick dash to “my” hare`s paradise to check if the dandelion was in flower. Yes, there is a massive carpet of dandelion. Of course “my” hares are still in it and feeding on it too.

Well, I did not see a lot of activity this morning. I had a nice sunrise. It`s always nice to be out there alone with wildlife at that time of day……

April 15, 2014 by fred Leave a Comment

For the last two weeks. I have been recceing a new site. A badger site. It is on the crest of a hill. I want to photograph a badger coming out of his set with the valley in the background. Easy said than done. Look at the picture below. I have marked the spot where I want the badger to stand! 🙂 🙂

Ps: I have seen a badger coming out of the hole.
