Quick recce this morning…I came across this beautiful male roe deer…
I spend the day in my woodland hide last Sunday. It was a cracking day. At the moment, the colours are fantastic. I enjoy photographing little birds amongst autumn colours. I had a few surprises…
Coal tit are usually rare ish at my woodland hide. I had three birds on Sunday
The little tyke is very fast…
Of course I also had the other common species
A long tailed tit in a bush was near my hide. I came out of the hide a took a few pictures
Now for the big boy. At the moment, I have three sparrowhawk coming to my woodland hide. They are three male.
One adult and two young. The adult tend to go pass like a rocket. The young bird sometimes perch around the hide.
One was drinking in front of the hide and I missed it!!!
I have so many perch around my hide that it look like a battlefield! But it`s the only way to stop those birds….
Weather is very poor today. Still, I had to refill feeders at my feedings stations. Tomorrow, they are forecasting good weather. I have placed several nice prop at my woodland hide…will see what happened tomorrow…
Coming back from my recce, A farmer was drilling…again look at the size of the tractor!!
Typical Autumn scene…
This is it, The red deer rutting season is almost over. Again I had a great time this year. It is beautiful to watch those beast fighting for sex! Sunday, the light was not great but I took some nice stuff. The one I like the most was taken in almost complete darkness. I like that “little stag”
2000 iso … anything is possible nowadays
I came across stags fighting
Some bracken are massive!
To end this rutting season, his majesty bellowing!
We must be at the peak of the red deer rutting season. Last Sunday was INCREDIBLE . Probably one of my best day ever with that magnificent mammals. All the condition were there to take some cracking pictures…..
It was very misty when I arrived
Misty and beautiful
It was magical
When suddenly two stag looked at each other in a funny kind of a way…
And Banzai…I saw an incredible battle….IT WAS MAGIC!
Last Saturday, I was at my woodland hide. Plenty of birds in the area. Again the sparrowhawk came three time but this time the young bird landed on one of my perch. I had two lens out a 500mm and a 300mm. You cannot move when that bird is five metres in front of you. The bird stayed for 25 minutes and was chassed away by the adult bird. Beautiful
I got carried away and took about 500 pictures! 🙂
First shot with the 300mm
Second shot with the 500mm Look at those eyes…
