Buzzards day

August 21, 2017 by fred Leave a Comment

Last Wednesday was an amazing day, One of those magic day.

The weather was lovely and I knew that all the farmers of the area would be harvesting wheat. During the afternoon, I went for an hour to see what I could photograph.

It was incredible

Frederic

The harvest was fully on

The baling machine was baling straw

They were buzzard everywhere, I counted 12 birds.

It was amazing, and I could get close to them too

Here the buzzard is calling

It was nice to be able to capture all sorts of behaviours

Eating a prey

And flying from one bale to another…Beautiful

It was a buzzard day!

Even a Chinese water deer came out…

Yet again a my hare paradise

On Sunday afternoon, I was back at my “hare paradise”. I came across one eye Joe but could not take any shots of the little tyke. The good news is that all the sheep have been removed.
Now, the grass, flowers will start to grow…I can wait for the weather to get a bit warmer to kick start spring properly…

I wanted to photograph a hare running in Front of the sun at eye level. Easy thing to say but not easy thing to do. Well, yesterday I was lucky…But I will have to go back…I am sure that it is possible to do Better!  🙂  it always is…

Brown hare in Hoar frost

February 23, 2015 by fred Leave a Comment

Hoar frost is not something I have the chance to photograph often. Well last Sunday I took loads of pictures of hares, Chinese water deer in hoar frost. It was spectacular. Of course I was at my “Hare Paradise” and I had a cracking time with my little friends….

Frederic

When the sun rises, it is always a battle to find a subject to place in the frame. You need to be very quick as “that” moment does not last very long…maybe 5 minutes at best, after the sun is too high and it`s too late,.  This time I was lucky! you need a bit of luck from time to time.. 🙂

Brown-Hare-(Lepus-Europaeus)Brown-hare-in-a-meadow-at-sunrise0008383

The light was gorgeous

I was able to come very close to this one. Taken about 3 metres away with 70-200mm. The sheep in the background were a bonus! 🙂

After a while I came across this chap. A very tame Chinese water deer.

At first he looked at me and then started to graze

Snow, glorious snow

February 11, 2015 by fred Leave a Comment

As I was saying in a previous post , I had an incredible day at my “Hare paradise”. We do not have snow often in this part of the world, so when there is snow, you have to know where to go. It is always a short window, so you have to capitalised on that short opportunities .

I just could not go wrong that day. I photograph everything I wanted to photograph and as a bonus I had some incredible behaviours…

Frederic

Brown-Hare-(Lepus-Europaeus)Brown-hare-mating-in-the-snow00201201

The eye of the male (Left) was taking out by the female (Right) while I was there. the male wanted to mate and the female was not too keen! (They never are!)

The male was very persistent

At the end he had his reward.

It was a great day!

Last Thursday , we had a massive hoar frost in Buckinghamshire.

Here are a few shots of that incredible morning…

Frederic
