Another bird that had a tough time during the cold spell. The lapwing
With this cold weather , it was
"easy" to photograph birds, mammals, the cold make them more approchable. That is why Scandinavian wildlife photographers have got it so easy...they have the weather "helping" them . We are not so lucky here...
Several red kite came to feed….
Sometimes, it was crowded with birds
Yesterday morning I was back with “my” kingfishers. During the night the temperature went bellow zero. it was cold. They was lot`s of ice everywhere.
It was amazing to watch and to photograph a kingfisher fishing amongst ice.
I wanted to photograph the kingfisher without any distraction…
It was ice cold , but that does not stop the kingfisher to hunt….
At last, we had a frost. Minus 4 last night.
They had forecasted a beautiful day, and for once they were right! 🙂
I did not want to miss the ice….
Here are some picture of kingfisher fishing amongst ice….
It was misty and cold ….
But the kingfisher has got to eat, whatever the weather
Amazing to see that bird diving amongst ice….A first for me.
Perched on the ice….
Yesterday, I woke up very early. They had forecast a heavy frost and I wanted to be out there first thing..
I was very lucky, I came across lots of different species that morning….
Sunrise was superb!
Birds were singing everywhere….

This is the technique I use to photograph hares….

This little tyke came to investigate me… just one metre away…Amazing.
