I was fed up setting the hide up, taking it down . So, I decided to build a “PROPER” hide.
A friend and I build this hide in two days.
I will be now photographing kingfisher in luxury : 🙂 🙂
For the last two month, I have been clearing a bluebell wood, cutting, burning etc…
This weekend, second phase. Building a hide. took me one day to build it. I made large, as I want a bit of “comfort” 🙂
A friend of mine was suppose to come and give me a hand…..yeah right…
As I always say, You have two kind of people on this planet! Talkers and doers! Isn`t that true Richard. 🙂
First, the skeleton of the hide
Second, covering the hide
I always place two coat of fabric….
Done, Just the scrim net for the front and the hide will be ready to rock and roll !
In a month or so, this site should be full of bluebell…..lets see what happened next….
I spend the day in my woodland hide last Sunday. It was a cracking day. At the moment, the colours are fantastic. I enjoy photographing little birds amongst autumn colours. I had a few surprises…
Coal tit are usually rare ish at my woodland hide. I had three birds on Sunday
The little tyke is very fast…
Of course I also had the other common species
A long tailed tit in a bush was near my hide. I came out of the hide a took a few pictures
Now for the big boy. At the moment, I have three sparrowhawk coming to my woodland hide. They are three male.
One adult and two young. The adult tend to go pass like a rocket. The young bird sometimes perch around the hide.
One was drinking in front of the hide and I missed it!!!
I have so many perch around my hide that it look like a battlefield! But it`s the only way to stop those birds….
This morning,I was at my woodland hide. Again, lot`s of birds. siskins were flying above. I never heard so many birds. group of 20 , unusual. I came across a new plant. the name is “red goosefoot” I did find it quite photogenic. I photograph a few tit perched on it. I like the colours…
The sparrowhawk came four time, Again the little tyke did not stop on any of my perch!!
Tomorrow, first outing with the red deer! Cannot wait…..
This is how it was when I arrived at my hide. Misty and cold. I love this time of year!
Without the sun, the colours are really vivid
Smaller coal tit
The sun appears and the colours are gone, shadows appears…the sun is bad news!
