Cracking encounter today. Another woodcock. I was lucky to get really close to this one. Unfortunatly the bird was in a very messy place. I first took a shot fo the head and then went for something a bit special. It is not a great picture but it is very interesting. It is a picture of the back of the head of the bird, Look at the size of those eyes. The bird can see the back of his head. AMAZING.

My first picture of the year was a picture of a woodcock! 🙂 I am still after those elusive birds…hoping to get one in the open without branch, grass, etc in and around the bird.

I was looking at the woodcock picture that I took yesterday. there is a picture where you can see the enormous eye of the bird. the bird can actually see his own back. Amazing….

Brown hare

Yesterday, late afternoon I went to my “Hare paradise” with Mike. Mike never photographed hare at close range before. It was an eye opener for him!

We did not get as close as I wanted to. it was too windy(Wind is not good!). But we still manage to take some lovely pictures…especially when the sun went down..

This is “One eye Joe” This is the hare who lost his eye to the female two weeks ago. He is now blind from one eye.
