Three days ago , while I was in my kitchen working. I could hear a commotion in the meadow next to the restaurant. I had a closer look and I clocked two red kite fighting on the ground. Took me a few second the get the camera ….. Amazing, I had never seen that before…..

Interestingly about a week or so ago I also saw two red kites fighting but in the air. Like you I had never seen this before and ran over as they headed towards the ground but couldn’t find them, I lost sight of them as there was an outbuilding between us and I presume they separated and flew off before they hit the deck. They nest in the field next to me and have been flying around a lot recently, I wonder if they are struggling to find enough food. We had that mild spell recently when a lot of birds were about as if it was Spring but then low temperatures either side of it, confusing for them perhaps? I live on a smallholding in Buckinghamshire about 35 minutes from you.
